Most hematopathology fellowships include little to no exposure or experience to the practice of pediatric hematopathology, which is a specialized area requiring a different approach to work-up and differential diagnosis formulation, as well as additional knowledge of specimen utilization (i.e., specimen triage and appropriate lab selection). Once in practice, most hematopathologists will encounter pediatric cases in both academic and private practice settings and can feel ill-prepared.This education session will focus on benign and malignant processes in the bone marrow. Attendees will gain an overview of differential diagnosis formation, knowledge of suggested testing panels integrating cytogenetic/FISH/molecular studies, and pitfalls to avoid. This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.Faculty/Authors
